Ah change...such a good thing. I would have never been able to say that a year ago. I used to be so afraid of change and always wanted to stay in my comfort zone. Now I am constantly changing...my style, my teaching, my attitude... all for the better.
I had lived in California for 15 years before I moved to Arizona where I have lived for the past 5 years. As Arizona is becoming my new home, California is still where my comfort zone is and has been for the past 20 years. Something about the people, the lifestyle, the feeling I get there, and of course my parents being there make it so comforting to me. However, I have learned in the past year that nothing is the same for ever and change is part of life. It's what makes life fun, challenging, and interesting.
My parents are going to be moving to Dallas, Texas within the next year and honestly I couldn't be more excited for them. At first the though of them leaving California felt like loosing a piece of my childhood... The house I grew up in, my best friend. Being in Texas and experiencing the lifestyle, the people, the way of life, and the housing all make me feel ready for this change. Now that I have my own home I have a new place to visit my parents and make new memories. As one door closes and another door opens, I couldn't be more ready or more excited for this new adventure!
