Today, I am going to be talking about my current every day makeup routine. I absolutely love makeup and how it can be such an art. I am always watching YouTube videos and constantly trying the newest products. It took me a while to figure out what works well with my skin and what colors look good on me. Now that I am confident in what looks good on me, I will share some knowledge with you. FYI I have pretty dry and acne prone skin. I am also very fair. Keep these things in mind, as these products may not work the same with every skin type and tone.
Starting with the face... This Cover Fx foundation is where it's at. I am telling you, it makes your skin look flawless. It is medium to full coverage and blends in perfectly without looking cakey. In terms of concealer, this Mac one has been my ride or die since high school. It is such full coverage and does not crease at all. (Tip: If you have a problem with creasing under the eye it means your skin is too dry...try using an eye cream. The avocado one from Kiehl's is my personal fav.) For powder, this Laura Mercier Translucent Powder is everything. It sets your liquids in place so they will not budge and creates a flawless finish on the skin. It is also great for "baking." As far as cheeks go, I am not a huge blush person. However, I love to contour. Since I have pretty fair skin, I like to warm up my face with this Lorac Pro Contour Kit. It has a great variety of shades and looks really natural on the skin.
On to brows... Let me just say that I believe that eyebrows are one of the most important features on the face. They can totally transform your look and are the first thing I notice on a person. I have tried many brow products because I am so picky about mine and by far the best brand I've found is Anastasia of Beverly Hills. (ah-may-zing!) I start by outlining my brows using the brow wiz in dark brown. This helps me get the shape I want and is easier for me to fill in. Then, I fill them in using the dip brow in dark brown, as well. To top them off and set them in place, I use the clear brow gel. This stuff is like glue, I am telling you. Since I like really defined brows, I use deeper and more intense products. If you like the more natural look, I would just suggest the brow wiz. It is quick and easy to work with.
Ah eyes... My favorite part! There is so much I could say about eyes and so many different looks to share but if I had to recommend one for every day it would be this Lorac Pro Palette. I am a neutrals girl but love pops of purple and this palette has it all. There is a perfect mixture of shimmer and matte's and the perfect range of colors for your every day occasions. As far as eyeliner goes, I am pretty picky. I like mine the blackest black you could find and one that doesn't smudge throughout the day. This one from Benefit is pretty darn good, if you ask me. It takes a little getting use to with the twist up feature but once you figure it out it is easy to work with and black as coal. For mascara, I have tried everything under the sun and I think I have finally found my fav. First, I apply one coat of the Benefit Roller Lash for lengthening. This really does make your lashes look 10x longer. Next, I apply a few coats of this Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara for the volume. I looooove volume and these two together are to die for!
Last but not least, lips... For my lips I usually keep it pretty natural. Most days I throw on some chap stick and am good to go. However, on the days I like a little color I always without fail reach for the Melted Liquid Lipsticks. I love a matte lip and these are the only ones that are not too dry on my lips. They are so pigmented and stay on literally all day.
Hope you learned a thing or two and have a great week!
