Being the Best You

Over the last year, I have discovered more of who I am and what I want out of life. I have developed a list of some things that I live by each and every day in order to help me be the best me possible. I hope you get some inspiration and find what works for you. 

  • go to bed with a clean kitchen
  • pick up your room after you get dressed
  • drink a glass of water every morning before your coffee
  • spend time alone
  • get in a routine
  • get out of your routine every once in a while
  • take naps
  • avoid small talk
  • read one book every month
  • get 8 hours of sleep every night
  • pray
  • get a planner and actually use it
  • give compliments to random people
  • smile
  • drink coffee
  • say something nice to yourself in the mirror while you're brushing your teeth
  • clean out your car when you get gas
  • put money in your savings account the day you get paid so you don’t spend it
  • stay away from negative people
  • buy yourself flowers- it relieves stress
  • write hand-written notes- people enjoy them
  • talk to a therapist- don’t hold anything in
  • say “no”
  • don’t try to be perfect- you’ll set yourself up for failure
  • apologize when you're wrong
  • forgive- not for them, but for you to move on
  • pamper yourself to a nice bubble bath and face mask at least once a week
  • watch the news
  • wear perfume
  • take your vitamins
  • go to the doctor at least once a year
  • call your parents
  • clean out your closet at the beginning of every season- trust me, you have stuff you don’t wear
  • keep a journal
  • take yourself on a date at least once a month (out to dinner, see a movie, go shopping and to lunch) whatever makes you happy but that doesn’t involve your couch and Netflix
  • wear lipstick- get out of your comfort zone with new colors
  • don’t go to bed without taking your makeup off and washing your face
  • say please and thank you
