Dear beautiful girl,
We have never actually met, yet I know you all too well. It’s another day. The alarm sounds and you start going through the motions hoping you’ll make it through the day without any tears. You do your best at work, making it seem like everything is fine. However, the second you get in the car the tears start flowing like a switch has been flipped on. You spend the rest of your night alone in your bed hoping to fall asleep so the pain will go away. How do I know this you ask? Two years ago today, this was me.
I know what it’s like to think no one understands. To feel completely alone and hopeless. You look in the mirror and feel completely worthless. Why get dressed or put on makeup because you don’t like what you see anyways. Let me tell you, you are not alone. It’s okay to be hurt. It’s okay to cry. Pretty girl, allow yourself to feel whatever it is you are feeling at this moment. Feel the emotion running through your veins. Get mad. Scream. Cry. Yell. When you feel it, you allow yourself to accept it. The only way you are going to beat this storm is if you feel it, accept it and deal with it. Believe me, gorgeous, sweeping it under the rug is not going to solve your problems. In fact, it might even make them worse further down the road.
Now, sweet girl, listen carefully when I say this. You are worthy. You are more worthy than you can possibly imagine. You are deserving of love, happiness, and pure bliss. Use this pain you're feeling to fuel your growth. Take time for yourself. Learn the in’s and out’s of what makes you laugh, what makes you cry, what makes you angry, what makes you smile, what makes you scared. Really get to know yourself. I urge you not to look for someone else to fill the void you are feeling. Look for a relationship within yourself, because honey, that’s the most important relationship of all.
The current situation you are in right now is not going to be your situation forever. You will grow and evolve and the storm will pass. When you're in the moment, it’s difficult to see the light. But girl, please don’t give up. Fight. Fight hard. Talk to someone. I promise you, if I can get through it so can you.
