GOODBYE 2018, HELLO 2019!
Is it just me or does each year seem to go by faster and faster? Or maybe I am just getting old…who knows! 2018 was a year of changes, growth, both personally and professionally, and lots of new experiences. I left my job in Arizona to move to a new state and teach at a new school. I moved into a new apartment in a city I knew nothing about. I did a lot of writing and fun photoshoots. I made new friends (thank you Instagram and the wonderful state of Texas). To say the least, it was a busy yet successful year.
Buuuut, 2k19 is going to be even better; I can feel it. I always love setting new goals for myself at the begging of each year. And the action of writing them down and putting them out there for yall to read really helps hold me accountable. I am always striving to learn from my mistakes, become stronger as a woman, and be the best version of myself. 2019 is going to be dedicated to personal growth, career expansion, trying new things, and expanding my horizons.
Take guitar lessons: As many of you know I got a guitar for my birthday. This has been on my bucket list as one way to expand my knowledge and try something new for a while. I have been watching videos online and teaching myself at home for the past month. Now, I am ready to get serious so in-person lessons seems like the next best step. Stay tuned…
Grow my blog/business: This is my passion. It’s what sets my soul on fire. Being able to inspire women to be confident on the inside and out and embrace who they are brings me so much fulfillment. Not only do I want to continue creating empowering content, but I want to take it a step further. Coming soon…
Travel more: Being a teacher is another huge passion of mine. I pour my heart and soul into my littles day in and day out and I wouldn’t change it for the world. However, this year I want to focus more on living. Really living. Instead of being the homebody/professional napper that I am, I want to adventure on the weekends, travel on my time off, and experience new places as much as I can.
Grow deeper in my faith: Within the past year, I really focused on making Him a priority in my life. And gosh, was it refreshing. Now I am ready to take it to the next level. I want to make it a part of my Sunday routine to go to church every week. Spending an hour with the Lord and really taking time to be present with Him will help me grow stronger as a women and as a daughter of Jesus.
Patience, love and grace: My three key words for 2k19. Have patience with myself and others. Treat others with love no matter the way they treat you. Give grace to everyone because you never know what they’re going through.
